We’ve been celebrating nerd-dom for over 135 years, and we’re keen to keep our streak going for another century or so.

Paying for School

Gaming Scholarships? Game on!

Lock in Your Child's Tuition Rate

At USV, we don’t believe in hiking up our students’ tuition rates year over year. As long as your child maintains at least 12 credits per trimester, keep their payments up to date, and behave in class, they can be eligible to lock in their tuition rate. That means they’ll pay the same amount for tuition every term, from the day they start their first class to the day they walk across that commencement stage.

The first step in locking in your tuition rate is to complete the student application

Student Housing

Their New Home Away from Home

USV provides student housing to students who would like to stay in the center of all the action: walking distance from campus and less than a quarter mile away from the Baypointe and Tasman Light Rail stations. The apartments offer plenty of storage, assigned parking, a pool, fitness room, and washers and dryers in unit. Each apartment comes furnished and includes electricity, water, sewer, and internet for each 4-month term. Resident Assistants will be on-site to help your child feel at home, offer peer mentoring, and organize free student activities.

To reserve your child’s student apartment, pay the housing deposit via PayPal and send it to paypal@usv.edu. Make sure to include your child’s first and last name.

Campus Safety

Your Child Is Safe with US

USV is dedicated to providing a safe and secure environment for the students, faculty, staff, and visitors to learn, work, and grow. To that end, we encourage everyone to study all of our campus safety plans in the event of crimes, natural disasters, medical emergencies, fires, and more. We also encourage students to sign up for SMS alerts, which will provide emergency notifications, campus closures, and more via text message.

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belongingness

Here at USV, we uphold a policy of inclusiveness that recognizes, values, and reflects the diversity of the community we serve. Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) is an initiative to introduce individuals to the key concepts to creating an environment that respects and values individual differences and building a fair and equitable society. The fundamental values of DEIB guide USV’s academic and institutional development, and support our mission to provide equal access to opportunities, and support our learners as they become leaders in their industries, communities, and the world.

In 2024, the University of Silicon Valley ranked #4 in Social Mobility by the U.S. & News World Report for enrolling and graduating economically disadvantaged students.
