About Dr. Shane Jensen
Computer Science
Dr. Shane Jensen (he/him) brings over 25 years of experience in P-12 education and higher education. He is a creative leader always striving to foster inclusive and innovative educational environments. Dr. Jensen obtained his EdD in Leadership from American College of Education, MS in Music Education from Towson University, and a BA Music Education and Germanic Studies from Concordia College. His expertise lies in social identity, relational leadership, performing arts curriculum design, teacher mentorship, and LGBTQIA+ research. As a published author, he focuses on leadership identity and inclusive practices and is currently working on a publication centering the participant perspective in a qualitative dissertation. His educational journey started in secondary music prior to his current role as a performing arts school support specialist. Dr. Jensen frequently presents at conferences on music education, gender identity, inclusivity, authentic leadership, and social communities. A Fulbright-Hays Scholar, he also holds postgraduate certificates in School Improvement and Leadership and Social-Emotional Learning. Outside of academia, he enjoys traveling, musical theatre, and spending time with his two Australian shepherds. Dr. Jensen resides in Baltimore, Maryland.
