About Chris Carranza
Digital Art & Animation
Chris is a veteran 3D artist with over 15 years of experience in the video game industry, specializing in character art, environment art, and real-time production pipelines across mobile, console, PC, and VR platforms. A graduate of San José State University with a BFA in Animation and Illustration, he launched his career in 2011 at Storm8, where he shipped over a dozen mobile titles before growing into senior and lead roles at some of the Bay Area's most prominent studios.
Over the course of his career, Chris has contributed to high-profile titles including Asgard's Wrath, the Spyro Reignited Trilogy, Marvel Powers United VR, Tron Run/r, and Power Rangers: Legacy Wars, among many others. As a Lead 3D Artist at nWay and Topgolf, he defined artistic vision, built and mentored teams of artists, and helped shape smarter workflows that raised the bar for quality and efficiency.
Growing up in the Philippines and Guam, Chris found his way to the Bay Area and never looked back. He now brings that same passion and drive to the classroom, helping students find their own path in the games industry.
